Monotype; 28"h x 22"w. A monotype is created by transferring a painting that has been made on a non-porous surface to paper by applying pressure. Betty works with oil based inks on a piece of plexiglass, and then transfers the painting to paper by running it through an etching press. The process is spontaneous and fresh; and possesses an element of surprise unlike any other medium. The end result is a unique, original work of art that cannot be reproduced again.
